CONNECTED – Together for Social and Digital Cohesion
From November 7 to 14, the CONNECTED project focused on the role of social media and artificial intelligence in communication.
Young participants from France, Morocco, and Germany met in Tangier for a week full of exchange and activities aimed at promoting intercultural communication beyond the screens.Throughout the workshops and excursions, several concepts developed at the EJBW were implemented together with the participants.
A heartfelt thank-you to the OFAJ (DFJW) and Erasmus+ for their support and trust in this inspiring trinational project.

VOLU.M.E Mentoring: Design to Align, 10.–16. November 2025 | Lefkosia, Zypern

Vom 10. bis 16. November 2025 findet in Lefkosia (Zypern) der internationale Fachkräfteaustausch »VOLU.M.E Mentoring: Design to Align« statt. Er richtet sich an Jugendarbeiter*innen, Koordinator*innen von Freiwilligenprojekten sowie Mentor*innen von aufnehmenden und entsendenden ESK Organisationen.
Im Mittelpunkt stehen die Auseinandersetzung mit der Rolle von Mentor*innen in internationalen Freiwilligendiensten (wie dem Europäischen Solidaritätskorps, ESK) und die Entwicklung eines gemeinsamen Verständnisses von Mentoring innerhalb der teilnehmenden Organisationen. Ziel ist es, bestehende Mentoringprozesse zu analysieren und passgenaue Entwicklungswege zu gestalten, die den jeweiligen Kapazitäten von Organisation, Mentor*innen, Freiwilligen und den Projekten gerecht werden.
Ein besonderer Fokus liegt darauf, Koordinator*innen und Mentor*innen derselben Organisation einzubeziehen, um ein abgestimmtes Verständnis und eine nachhaltige Umsetzung von Mentoringprozessen zu fördern.
10 Jahre VOLU.M.E – eine Erfolgsgeschichte der Zusammenarbeit: seit der ersten Veranstaltung im Jahr 2014 ist die VOLU.M.E-Reihe kontinuierlich gewachsen:
• 25 internationale Aktivitäten in ganz Europa
• über 600 Teilnehmende
• mehr als 70 PartnerorganisationenDas Netzwerk hat in dieser Zeit unzählige Lernerfahrungen, neue Partnerschaften und innovative Ansätze für Freiwilligenarbeit und Mentoring hervorgebracht. »Design to Align« ist ein Projekt des europäischen Netzwerks »The Constellation«, bestehend aus:

ToT-Ally Diverse: A Long-Term Training of Trainers for People with Diverse Abilities
ToT-Ally Diverse is a new inclusive Training of Trainers (ToT) for young people with diverse abilities who want to become trainers in non-formal youth work. The programme was designed to be barrier-free from the very beginning and is based on the European ETS Competence Model. Across three residential seminars and accompanying online phases, the project offers a clear learning pathway: from the basics of training work, to practical application, and ultimately to independently delivering trainings. Personal support, accessible learning environments, Universal Design and inclusive communication are integral elements of the concept.
Target group:
12 participants (18+) from Erasmus+ programme countries with a recognised disability, initial experience in international youth work, and a willingness to take part in all modules. Working languages: English and/or International Sign.Dates:
• Module 1: Weimar, 01–07 November 2025
• Module 2: Hondarribia (Spain), 24–30 April 2026
• Module 3: Slovenia, Summer 2026The project strengthens diversity, representation and quality within the European training field and puts the values of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities into practice: self-determination, visibility and equal participation. The project is co-funded by the European Union.

Ilyana Heitz aus Frankreich war im Juli Praktikantin bei EJBW in der Abteilung »Europapolitische Bildung«. Ihr hat die Zeit bei uns sehr gut gefallen und uns als Dankeschön ein Gedicht auf Französisch geschrieben, das wir unten übersetzt haben:

In einer Sommerbrise hören
Wie die Blätter singen in einem diskreten Murmeln.
Sie schaffen eine Umgebung, die von allen geschätzt
wird, die sich die Zeit nehmen zuzuhören.In diesem Wald voller kleiner Häuser,
die viele junge Menschen willkommen

SOFT: The Subtle Art of Facilitation

This week, 28 participants from all over Europe are immersing themselves in the art of facilitating learning processes.
Together with our Italian partner Terzo Millennio – Laboratorio Di Umana Solidarietá, we are exploring what it really means to consciously facilitate learning and group processes – from two interrelated perspectives: the experience of the learners
and the role of those who facilitate learning processes.We create spaces in which learners:
• discover their own learning needs and paths instead of following predetermined structures.
• take responsibility for their learning process and experience self-direction.
• can experiment, reflect, and grow in a supportive environment.
• learn together with others – through exchange, cooperation, and shared experiences.
• understand challenges as part of learning and gain confidence in their own development.We explore what it means to consciously accompany learning processes – beyond traditional role models.
As facilitators, we learn:
• to support learners empathically and see their diversity as a resource.
• Design learning spaces in such a way that personal responsibility, curiosity, and trust can develop.
• Respond flexibly to group processes and continually reflect on our own attitudes.
• Promote cooperation and co-creation instead of merely imparting knowledge.
• Allow learning processes to happen instead of controlling them – and welcome the unpredictable as part of learning.It is inspiring to see how theory becomes practice – in a learning space that promotes openness, trust, and growth.
We are already looking forward to the continuation of the series in Weimar from March 6–12, 2026!
