Module 7 – Working in Civic Education
Module 7 of the Qualifications Programme was successfully completed on the 3rd and 4th of February. This session exposed participants to the work of civic education and the potential opportunities that may be available to them in this field.
On Saturday, the 3rd of February, Education Programme Managers Marcus Rebitschek and Dr. Frank König introduced participants to their projects and shared with them some insights into their works on International Youth Work and workshops organized for the youth on historical and political education. Seth Collins Adjei also also shared with the participants the importance of eye contact as well as some of his body language tips which are important during seminar moderation.
Along with identifying some local and national organizations that support civic education, Eric Wrasse and the participants on Sunday, February 4th explored potential job opportunities available to them in the field of civic education as part of this Qualifications Programme. Also, the participants role-played several difficult scenarios that they might encounter in workshops and devised various approaches to address these problems.share on Facebook · veröffentlicht am 05. Workshop series on the 30th anniversary of the Thuringian Constitution
There was a special opportunity in our pool of trainers for two graduates of our qualification programme: Caroline Ellenberger and Valeriya Kitsis developed a workshop concept for the 30th anniversary of the Thuringian Constitution with the support of Dorit Machell, coordinator of the project.
Together with Doreen Denstädt, the Thuringian Minister for Migration, Justice and Consumer Protection, they ran a total of five workshops in state schools across Thuringia from September to December 2023. Pupils in grades 6 to 8 were given an insight into selected articles of the state constitution and learnt about their historical background through a quiz.
They were able to discuss the topics of freedom, values and participation in small groups. At the end of the workshop, they had the opportunity to put their questions about the Thuringian constitution, children’s rights and youth participation directly to Minister Doreen Denstädt in a Q&A session.
The workshop series was launched as part of a project by the Thuringian Ministry of Migration, Justice and Consumer Protection in cooperation with the EJBW and was welcomed with joy by the school headmasters, teachers and pupils. The workshops were intended to offer young people across the state the opportunity to familiarise themselves more intensively with the basics of the Thuringian constitution and motivate them to participate in public life. The cooperation with the ministry was also a special experience for our trainers.

Module 6: »Migration«
Module 6 took place on the weekend of 13 and 14 January. The focus was on the question of how the topic of migration can be dealt with in political education. Amer Katbeh organised the weekend and introduced the participants to various methods that could be tested and discussed. Among other things, the participants learnt what role working with biographies can play. The question of working with one’s own biography was also discussed. Amer also shared with the participants his experience in dealing sensitively with the topic in groups and what the trainers should pay attention to.
Julie Onyango offered a workshop on Sunday in which she discussed migration based on her own story.
Manuel Schabel also ran a workshop in which the group was given space to discuss the Middle East conflict. Together, they discussed different perspectives on the conflict and then worked out how to identify anti-Semitism in this debate.share on Facebook · veröffentlicht am 16. January 2024
Modul 5 »Eigene Workshops entwickeln« fand statt
(Apologies. This content is only available in German language.)

(Apologies. This content is only available in German language.)
Dezember in Neusitz.
