Human Rights Education. Career Entry into Civic Education & Youth Work
The programme has been taking place at the EJBW since 1.1.2020 and will end on 31.12.2024. The description was as follows:
We want to empower young people to start a professional career in the field of Human Rights Education, Civic Education and Youth Work. We want to provide participants with a comprehensive training consisting of 11 modules, additional online learning, with work opportunities to acquire practical experience, with internships and career coaching. We are inviting particularly on individuals who have experienced forced or chosen migration, as well as people who have not had this experience.
The Project
- We want to shape political education in a way that is diverse and critical of discrimination: in terms of content, formats and human resources, and are therefore building up a qualified network of trainers.
- We want to prepare young people for a career entry into Human Rights education and Civic Youth Education / workshop facilitation.
- We offer comprehensive training consisting of 11 modules, with additional online learning and accompanied practice : Job shadowing, seminar and workshop leadership, internships
- This advanced training is closely accompanied by our team through individual coaching, among others.
- We work in an intersectional, discrimination-critical, experience-oriented and participatory way and attach great importance to postcolonial perspectives and approaches
The Qualification Programme
The seminars will take place on Saturdays from 10am to 6pm and on Sundays from 10am to 4pm. Seminars will be held in English and German.
In the seminars, we will:
- work on specific topics of Human Rights Education / Civic Education.
- conduct pedagogical method training on these topics.
- get to meet and network with other organizations in the professional field of civic education and youth work.
