Module 10 taught about »Empowerment & Allyship«
Module 10 of the qualification program was successfully held on April 6 and 7, 2024 and focused on the topic of empowerment and its relationship to allyship.
Gifty Nyame Tabiri introduced the session by exploring the concept and historical context of empowerment and sharing her personal perspective. Denise Lee then explored the concept of allyship and its connection to intersectionality. Through interactive exercises, participants practiced communicating boundaries in different everyday scenarios to better understand empowerment and allyship.
The following day, April 7, the program continued with participants splitting into two groups to further explore empowerment and allyship. Gifty Nyame Tabiri led discussions on migrant empowerment and encouraged participants to reflect on their migration experiences and express themselves through creative writing. Meanwhile, Denise Lee emphasized the importance of self-care and stress management using methods such as the Wheel of Emotions and creative writing exercises.
Module 10 concluded with participants reflecting on the weekend workshop, including the new insights and methods they had learned.
