Trainers met for a follow-up module in Eisenach
On the first weekend in June, trainers from different years of the qualification programme met for a joint follow-up module in Eisenach. Their topic was racism.
After an introductory session on Saturday, the group discussed the blind spots of common theories of racism, the connection between racism and the economy and looked at the situation in Germany. There was a lively exchange of experiences and the participants tried out and discussed various methods for thematising racism.
Sunday was used for an intensive examination of the question ›How to deal with racism – in everyday life and in the workshop?‹. The question of possible courses of action for workshop leaders in the event of racist incidents in seminars was discussed with particular interest.
The trainer Phương Thúy Nguyễn, together with Tariq Mian from the project team, led the weekend. Outside of the seminar times, there was plenty of time for personal dialogue and a short trip to Wartburg Castle. This was the last follow-up module of this year’s qualification programme.
