»When am I really Free?« Philosophy on Values
Time required: 1.5 to 3 hours
Target group: children aged 8 to 10
Background
Consciously or unconsciously, values play a major role in children’s everyday lives. They are reflected in the behavior of parents and teachers and in rules for living together at school and in families. An examination of values provides orientation for our actions and for our dealings with each other.
Procedure
This workshop is based on the Bavarian State Agency for Civic Education’s values kit as a framework for values education. It is used to embark on a journey of discovery through the land of values. The suitcase, the map and the passport with stamp are the children’s luggage with which they embark on a journey of values. They are accompanied by three animals with very different characteristics: a tortoise, a chameleon and a squirrel.

Objective
Children learn about values through a play and engage with them philosophically. The aim is not only to enrich children with words, but also to give them a better basis for (democratic) coexistence based on values.
Please note
- The format, the time frame and the specific focus will be adapted to the target group and objectives after consultation.
- The workshop can be held in German or English (also suitable for English as a foreign language).
- The educational programs can be compiled into project weeks.
