A human rights-based and democratic childhood pedagogy for professionals in the education sector
Time required: 3 hours to 5 days
Target Audience: (Prospective) primary school teachers and educators, social workers, people working with children in general, parents and guardians
Background
We want to be democratic, but when are children allowed to take responsibility? Does democracy in education turn everything upside down?
And what can democratic processes look like with children between the ages of 3 and 10? What does it mean to make human rights the basis of every educational decision and coexistence in day-care centres and primary schools?
Aims
The aim of the training course is to reduce reservations about democratic and human rights-based approaches in early childhood education, to offer space for reflection and discussion, to support concrete ways of (gradual) implementation and to provide materials and tools.
Notes
- The programme is tailored to the individual needs and objectives of the target group. Different focuses can be set. At least one preliminary discussion will be offered.
- This training can be held in German or English.
