How to Open Space – Conference Technology for Large Groups
Time required: 4 to 20 hours
Target group: youth & adults
Background
Open Space is an approach in which conference participants can significantly shape the program and there is intensive learning from each other. The host or moderator defines a motto under which the schedule will run. This requires the highest level of moderation skills to maintain and structure this dynamic space, but also to ensure that all conference participants can contribute as they wish. With skillful moderation, the outcome of open space conferences is extremely high productive. In addition, the participants grow closer together and network with each other more than in other conference formats.
Procedure
Open Space facilitation training can take place in a variety of settings. The basics of Open Space are taught in an experience-oriented and interactive approach, as well as the possibilities for free interpretation, moderation skills and aspects of room design.
In addition, mentoring (including support and feedback) can also be offered for the first implementations.
Objective
The aim is to get to know the Open Space Technology and to acquire skills and tools for concrete implementation.
