Food Justice
Age group: Children aged 10 and over, but also for educators, activists, students and other interested groups
Previous knowledge: none
Background
The workshop was designed to dive into the concept of food justice, examining the systemic issues surrounding food access, equity, and sustainability. Participants will have a better understanding on how food systems impact marginalized communities and learn about the initiatives that aim to create equitable and sustainable food landscapes.
Aims
For me, food justice is a crucial and timely topic that addresses not only fundamental aspects of community empowerment but also the impacts of global food systems on climate change, labor rights, and international trade. By focusing on equitable food access, sustainability, and community empowerment, we can build a more just, resilient, and healthy world for all.
Notes
- The workshop is designed to be accessible to individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those who are new to the topic. The introductory sessions will cover fundamental concepts and provide a foundation for deeper exploration throughout the workshop. Participants should come with an open mind, a willingness to engage in discussions, and a passion for learning and contributing to their communities.
- It can be booked as an on-site workshop / face-to-face workshop or as an online workshop.
