Empowering future Activists and Advocators
Time required: approx. 1,5 – 2 hours
Target group: Students, Educators, Youth Groups, Migrants, Human Rights activists
Background
Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere and it starts within us to work for a better future where everyone is treated equally with respect and dignity. Activism and advocacy gives us the chance to voice our concerns, fight for a democratic world, and to stand for what is right to promote global citizenship and a sense of shared responsibility.
Activism plays a crucial role in bridging the gaps among communities and individuals for reaching a collective approach and a shared interest to bring positive changes. Meanwhile, it’s highly important for individuals and activists to learn and educate themselves on the right approach and techniques as activism and advocacy goes beyond sympathy and requires alliance, active engagement and strategic thinking.
Therefore, this workshop can help those interested to understand the basics of activism, navigate different ways of building alliance and funding opportunities, as well as it’s importance and how to stay safe online as an activist.
