Estera Mihaila

Estera Mihaila is a pragmatic dreamer with a profound commitment to fostering resilience and equipping individuals with tools to effect positive societal change.

Her competences have been built and recognised throughout her academic and professional journey. Engaging with various organisations, Estera has supported international student communities, supported public debate training for youth, and engaged in local initiatives for the education and inclusion of children and young individuals from disadvantaged environments. Drawing from her background in economics, Estera’s interests extend to areas such as degrowth, green growth, and sustainable business practices and her earlier work in Germany saw her actively engaged in the international startup community, focusing on a conscious, sustainable approach to entrepreneurship.

As a passionate aficionado of the performing arts, when she’s not sitting in a theatre seat herself, she is engaged in her work with the international community of Improv Theatre Bonn, where she promotes the integration of improv and forum theatre concepts into daily life, seeing theatre as a very powerful tool for raising awareness and effecting change.

Beyond her professional role with SALTO Training and Cooperation supporting international youth work and non-formal education, Estera maintains a keen interest in diversity in the cultural life and beyond, as well as mental health and wellbeing. She also strongly advocates for topics related to identity, empowerment and social justice.

Estera’s methods encourage and are centred around perspective change and working with the whole body. She uses participatory methods from her broad toolbox of theatre pedagogy and non-formal education to inspire, empower, and encourage communities and individuals to engage with political and social justice issues and promote individual personal development towards a fairer society for all.

Currently based in Bonn, Estera is available for engagements nationwide and internationally in English and Romanian and, additionally, in tandem with German and Spanish. The workshops can be adapted to meet the needs and requirements of the participants, while, at their core, maintaining an engaging and participative working environment.
