Ayham Jaber

Ayham Jaber is studying Communication Science and Languages and Cultures of the Ancient Near East (Ancient Near Eastern Studies) at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena.
Ayham designs and leads workshops on »Recognizing fake news«, »Obtaining information and forming opinions« and »Appearance, presentation, mediation«. Since 2023, Ayham has been taking part in the qualification program »Migrants as Youth Work Professionals« at the EJBW Weimar. In addition to his work as a political educator, he works as a language mediator at the psychosocial center for refugees and survivors of torture – REFUGIO Thüringen.

In workshops, Ayham deals with topics that he has researched during his studies, that he has encountered or that he has experienced in his life in Syria. The topics are mainly fake news, colonialism, decolonization and criticism of capitalism.

Ayham has lived in Jena since 2018 and enjoys reading a book, playing a few notes on his musical instrument or researching history in his free time.
Ayham offers workshops in German and Arabic. Ayham also speaks English.
