Simon Ifechukwude Enumah was born in Nigeria. Now a German citizen, he lives in Halle / Saale, Saxony-Anhalt. Simon holds a Master’s degree in Political Science, Intercultural Communication and American Studies from Chemnitz University of Technology.
He is a political scientist with special training in social equality, political participation and anti-racism counseling. Simon is currently a full-time anti-discrimination counselor (at LAMSA e.V.) with a focus on racial discrimination under the General Equal Treatment Act (AGG). He conducts individual counseling at the municipal level and has a particular interest in deconstructing racism and ensuring equal treatment for all people. For this reason, he is a member of several voluntary groups and platforms that campaign for these values. Simon is a private founding member of IBK Integration durch Bildung und Kultur Halle / Saale e.V.
Colonialism, racism, anti-racism, (white) privilege, allyship and diversity are the core areas of his interest. He goes into communities and schools to organize projects and workshops aimed at informing and educating youth about the critical impact of these issues in our society. In the course of his consultancy work, he realized how important it is to offer platforms where young people can exchange ideas and reflect on the various forms of discrimination in the hope of inspiring them to unite against racism and discrimination.
In order to be able to accompany these young people professionally, he decided to acquire further expertise and skills in the field of civic education at the EJBW.
In the future, he offers workshops on the topics of racism, anti-racism, diversity, (white) privilege and allies.
