Samya Billaouadel
Samya Billaouadel grew up in Morocco, where she completed her bachelor’s degree in sociology. She then studied at the University of Applied Sciences in Erfurt, where she gained her Master’s degree in »International Work«. In 2024, Samya returns to Erfurt University of Applied Sciences as a lecturer in Migration.
In addition to her studies, she provided counselling and support for refugees and the state youth welfare service with unaccompanied minors of foreign children and young people at MitMenschen in Erfurt. During an internship abroad, she also gained experience as a social worker at a counselling centre for women at a counselling centre for women suffering from domestic violence. During this time, she developed and organised numerous educational workshops, training sessions and other events. Samya has gained experience not only as a holiday supervisor for children and young people at IB Mitte in Erfurt, but also as a travel guide for people with disabilities at the Diakonisches Bildungsinstitut Johannes Falk gGmbH. Samya has also completed further training as an integration multiplier as part of the Engagiert integriert project at Diakonie Mitteldeutschland, and a qualification as a language mediator covering labour law, vocational training, occupational health and safety, types of employment, co-determination and the social security system. To pursue her dream, she was responsible for the radio programme Our Voice for research, editorial work, moderation and translation during the programme, and helped to implement events and programmes at the radio container KOMED e.V./ Radio F.R.E.I..
In 2015, she was awarded the title of Peace Ambassador during the International Festival for Volunteers in Tunisia, after completing the Peace Ambassador qualification at the International Centre for Professional Development in Morocco.
Samya Billaouadel has been responsible for vocational and socio-educational counselling at DaMigra e.V. since 2022. Before that, she worked as a social pedagogue for an educational institution.
Since October 2023, Samya has been completing the qualification programme in civic education at the European Youth Education and Youth Meeting Centre in Weimar.
Samya’s interests in education include migration, discrimination, racism, intersectionality, identity and empowerment.
She offers workshops in German, English, French and Arabic.
