Magdalena Sikora
Magdalena Sikora comes from Poland, where she completed her Master’s degree in sociology at the University of Wroclaw in 2005.
She then lived and worked in the UK for over ten years. Among other things, she worked as an education officer at the NGO »Sustrans« in London, where she was responsible for the coordination and implementation of the Bike It Plus project in schools. As part of the project, she promoted cycling to school and a sustainable, healthy transport transition among pupils and their families. To achieve these goals, she developed and implemented numerous educational workshops, training sessions and other events.
Magdalena Sikora also worked as a research assistant at the University of Hertfordshire (research focus: Migration, young people in the community and perceptions of public safety in the community).
Ms. Sikora has lived in Eberswalde since 2016. Among other things, she worked here as an English lecturer at the Barnim District Adult Education Center until the end of July 2019. In 2019, she worked as a research assistant at the Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development, where she was involved in a German-Polish INTERREG project that promoted cooperation between universities and companies in the Pomerania border region. Since November 2020, she has been working as a project assistant at the Buckow educational institution (Schorfheide).
Her interests in the field of education include diversity, migration, sustainability, social justice and the promotion of multilingualism in early childhood and the preservation of mother tongues in a migrant society.
Since January 2020, Magdalena Sikora has been in the »Train-the-Trainer Program« in Political Education at the European Youth Education and Youth Meeting Center Weimar. She offers workshops in English, German and Polish.
