Lina Hadid
As an architect, Lina Hadid sees a close connection between architecture, cultural heritage and civic education. Here, buildings tell and document history and politics. Sometimes we can read people’s suffering in them and sometimes the history of development and prosperity.
Lina Hadid has been in the EJBW qualification program since 2020, getting to know the perspectives of participants from different cultures and nationalities. Here she has been able to learn informal methods of political education and exchange ideas.
During her stay in Germany, Lina noticed that there is an inadequate and misleading image of Arab women in general and Muslims in particular in German or European society. This image can lead to negative and inhumane views in society. Lina’s aim is to change the point of view and encourage a change of perspective, as well as to shed light on the history of women and their role in Arab and Islamic history.
