Christian Zenke
Christian Zenke grew up in a rural area near Kassel in a middle-class family with three siblings. He is particularly interested in working as a trainer at the EJBW because it takes place within the framework of non-formal education. He hopes that children and young people can be given a space for values and content that in many cases lies outside of formal school education and the socialization of the nuclear family.
In addition to studying architecture and working in offices, Christian gave tours of historical education. His experiences in the production of architecture and social narratives, and their connections with power structures and inequality, led him to focus more on political education. As a trainer, it is important to him to promote a critical awareness of capitalism, whiteness and classism and to empower queer children and young people. The workshops should take place in an intersectional approach that considers different forms of discrimination.
He is currently taking part in training programs at the EJBW and the Buchenwald Memorial. Workshops are possible in English and German.
