Countering right-wing extremism
Target group: Young people aged 14 and over and young adults, multipliers, educators
Expected prior knowledge: none
Background
When engaging with the radical right, it is of central importance to know their strategies: Shifting discourse, seizing space and many tricks of so-called ›black rhetoric‹. In the workshop, however, we do not want to explore these in depth, but only understand them to the extent that we can derive counter-strategies from them.
Procedure
Based on the question of what form of right-wing extremist space grabbing I am dealing with here, the participants will learn about various strategies that they can use to become active in everyday life. We want to prepare for concrete situations by considering what can be done before, during and after a confrontation with right-wing extremist opinions in everyday life.
The workshop does not offer rhetoric training. The aim is to familiarise participants with right-wing strategies and to oppose them by taking a clear stance.
Aims
The aim is for participants to know the strategies and intentions behind right-wing extremist statements so that they can effectively take appropriate measures to counter them. After the workshop, all participants will not only have a theoretical understanding of the possibilities, but will also have tried them out in practice.
Notes
- The workshop is offered in German and English.
- It can be booked as an face-to-face workshop and as an online workshop.
