Classism and social justice
Target group: Interested parties, administrative staff
Time required: 3 to 5 hours
Background
People are at least formally equal before the law. When it comes to an individual’s actual ability to act, things look very different: The purse decides what I can do, what opportunities I have and how healthy I am. Why is that the case?
Procedure
Using various methods, including text work and group reflections, the workshop aims to address the question: What are participation, power and oppression in liberal democracy?
Objective
- Create an understanding of power in liberal democracies
- Understanding classism as a form of discrimination
- Reflect on own social position
- Develop possibilities for intervention and action against the background of social justice
