Identity
Time required: approx. 5 – 6 hours (with breaks)
Age group: from 12 years
Previous knowledge: none
Background
Identity is a topic that concerns the global world today. Who am I and who am I in my classroom/school? Who are my classmates and schoolmates and what do we have in common? This workshop offers students a platform to think and talk about the topic of identity. In conjunction with games and handicrafts, the pupils learn to get to know their mates better and to respect them.
Through reflection, they are encouraged to make a personal commitment to take concrete steps to combat discrimination – and thus contribute to the appreciation of identity in everyday life.
Aims
The aims are to provide participants with a platform to reflect on their own identity, celebrate diversity and develop empathy and respect for others.
When we create space to talk and share about identity, we become stronger and more immune to discrimination. Let’s do this.
