Hate on the net – the media strategies of the New Right
Time required: 3 to 4 hours
Age group: from 14 years
Previous knowledge: none
Background
The radical right uses the potential of the internet and is gradually shifting political discourse to social networks. Networks of radical right-wing influencers, trolls and hackers have formed on social media and are systematically attacking democracy. Memes, hate attacks and trolling are their weapons. They use them to influence algorithms, hijack hashtags and stir up fear.
Aims
In the workshop, we will look at the narratives and strategies and consider together how to take action against racist, anti-Semitic and anti-feminist positions.
Notes
The workshop concept can be individually adapted to the target group.
