Discrimination and its Antidotes

Target group: School classes, grades 8 – 10
Time required: Project day, 6 school hours

Background

Based on the students’ everyday experience, the workshop aims to find out what discrimination is and how it can be countered. In addition to reflecting on their experiences in everyday school life, the aim is to promote empathy towards discriminated groups.

Procedure

This is done through playful exercises in which the pupils are encouraged to change perspectives and enter into discussions with each other. Social movements that have campaigned against various forms of discrimination are also examined.
