Time required: 4 hrs
Age group: 18+
Number of participants: 6–16
Previous knowledge required: None
Topics: Sexual diversity, gender, decoloniality, colonial history, intersectionality
Note: This workshop is preferably carried out with a second trainer
Background and Aims
How do we deal with fear of the unknown?
How can we coexist in our different lived realities? And what role does emotion play in this?
How does learning from each other help us explore ourselves?
In this workshop we will look at the many facets of sexual diversity. Together, we will deepen the knowledge of the participants and explore their own understandings of the topic.
Process
Starting from our own backgrounds and experiences, we will take a closer look together at relevant terminology, concepts and case studies, and also start to think about what sexuality and gender have to do with colonialism. Through mixed media exploration, we will also try to reflect on how the people, structures and media around us influence our own perspectives on the topic.
