Time required: 3 hours, optionally 2 additional hours of in-depth study
Target group: Young people aged 14 and over and young adults, multipliers, educators
Expected prior knowledge: none
Background
The workshop introduces the history and manifestations of anti-Semitism. The core aim is for participants to understand what constitutes antisemitism, what function it has in the world view of antisemites and what distinguishes it from other forms of discrimination, such as racism. To this end, various forms of anti-Semitism are analyzed together using examples.
Current conflicts and events will be discussed on the basis of a jointly developed definition of anti-Semitism. The workshop also aims to create a basis for navigating the highly polarized debate on current anti-Semitism.
Optionally, certain aspects can be examined in more detail in a two-hour in-depth session, or possible courses of action can be discussed.
Aims
To develop a definition of antisemitism that makes it possible to clearly recognize antisemitism. To understand what constitutes anti-Semitism and how it differs from racism.
Notes
- The workshop is offered in German and English.
- It can be booked as an on-site workshop / face-to-face workshop and as an online workshop.
